Brut des Franches (ABV 8%) from BFM (Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes) begins with a blend of three versions of their La Saison √225: one aged in vin jaune barrels, one smoked, and one their classic version. The blend is bottled and conditioned like Champagne, and aged over 15 months in a Champagne cellar near the brewery. The finished beer is golden and sparkling, with distinct tartness and the aroma and palate of spice, wood, dried fruits, brioche, and fresh oak.
