Large format beer bottles follow the same naming convention as wine bottles, many of which - curiously - are named for biblical kings. Bottles larger than the standard 750 ml (25.4 oz) bottle are hard to obtain and, often, available only around holiday time. Here is a list of larger sizes for reference:
- 1.5 L Magnum: Equivalent to two standard 750 ml bottles.
- 3.0 L Double Magnum: Equivalent to four standard 750 ml bottles.
- 4.5 L Jeroboam: Equivalent to six standard 750 ml bottles.
- 6.0 L Methuselah: Equivalent to eight standard 750 ml bottles.
