Black Ops Stout (ABV 12%) from Brooklyn Brewery is a highly-secretive, limited-release, barrel-aged Imperial Stout. Brewed each year since 2019, this 2024 version rested in hand-selected Four Roses Small Batch barrels for months, emerging with a hint of mellow Bourbon character, and a smooth, regal finish. Then, it was re-fermented with Champagne yeast. The result raises a rich, fluffy dark brown head, combining big chocolate and coffee notes with a rich underpinning of vanilla-like oak. Once you try it, you won’t be able to keep it secret! 16 oz. can.

Brewery Information:

Brooklyn Brewery started with a dream to return brewing to Brooklyn, New York -- once a powerhouse of American beer production. Founded in 1988 by neighbors Steve Hindy and Tom Potter, Hindy learned to brew beer during a six-year stay in various Middle Eastern nations such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Upon his return to Brooklyn in 1984, he and Potter quit their jobs and founded the brewery. The pair hired graphic designer Milton Glaser, best known as the creator of the logo for the I Love New York campaign, to create the company logo and identity. Glaser then became part-owner

Originally, their beer was contract-brewed and the pair personally transported and marketed their beer to bars and retailers around New York City. In 1996, they acquired a former matzo factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and converted it into a functional brewery. In 2009, they undertook a $6.5 million expansion.

Today, James Beard Award-winning Brewmaster Garrett Oliver (brewmaster since 1994) and his team brew everything from classic styles to bold experiments and collaborate with brewers, innovators and artists from around the globe. Their beers now travel to more than half the United States and over thirty countries.
