Brasserie D'Achouffe offers four varieties of their highly-rated Belgian ales in this gift-packaged set --- sample them with the authentic Chouffe glass included.
La Chouffe Blonde Ale (ABV 8%) is brewed with a touch of coriander and bottle conditioned. It pours a beautiful orange-yellow with a luxurious head and spicy aromas. Flavors of sweet candy and fruity esters give way to a long, dry finish in this highly carbonated Belgian Blond.
Mc Chouffe (ABV 8%) is a dark Belgian Ale patterned after its Scotch Ale counterparts, Mc Chouffe pours dark reddish brown with a moderate tan head, boasting strong aromas of toffee, caramel, anise and dried fruits while achieving a taste that is surprisingly mild, malty and fruity.
Houblon Chouffe Belgian IPA (ABV 9%) pours a pale gold with a stark white head and aromas of grassy hops provided by Tomahawk, Amarillo, and Saaz varietals. The delightfully bitter finish is nicely balanced by spicy yeast notes.
N'Ice Chouffe Winter Beer (ABV 10%) is a persuasive and complex winter warmer, offering abundant flavors of spice, fruit, and dark berries, complemented by malty overtones. Brewed with thyme, Curaçao orange peel, and dark candy sugar, N'Ice Chouffe is the perfect beer to see you through long winter nights.
One 11.2 oz / 33 cl bottle of each variety is included, along with one 33 cl Chouffe "Find Marcel" glass (approx. 6-3/4" high x 3-1/2" diam.); a great gift for the beer lover in your life!
Brewery Information:
Named for Achouffe, the village where it began or (depending on the storyteller) for a colony of beer-brewing gnomes reputed to have once lived in the area, the D'Achouffe Brewery was founded in the late 1970s by brothers-in-law Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts, first as a hobby, and then as a full time venture.
Nestled in the green hills of the Belgian Ardennes, the brewery released its first ale to high acclaim in 1982 and has flourished ever since. A meticulous attention to quality, a tried and true application of brewer's savvy and innovation, and an irrepressible talent for promotion (the popular gnomes appear on every label) helped propel the brewery to its current success.
Today D'Achouffe (acquired by the Duvel Moortgat brewery group in 2006) exports award-winning ales to over 40 countries around the world and hosts more than 10,000 thirsty brewery visitors each year.
