Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold (ABV 5.8%) is complex and satisfying; a smooth, golden lager that strikes a delicate balance between malt and hops in the aroma, palate, finish and body. It has more body and less hops than a Pilsner, and less malt and more hops than a Munich style lager; brewed in the style developed by the 19th century brewers of Dortmund, Germany. Six 12 oz bottles.

Brewery Information:

Founded in 1988 by brothers Patrick and Daniel Conway in Cleveland’s Ohio City, Great Lakes Brewing Company (GLBC) is Ohio’s first brewpub and microbrewery. Since then, Great Lakes has been a driving force behind the revival of the Ohio City neighborhood and the craft beer industry in Northeast Ohio. Independent for over 30 years and employee owned since 2018, it now serves 14 states and Washington. In 2023, it was ranked as the 17th largest craft brewery in the USA. While production has expanded to adjacent and nearby properties, the brewpub and restaurant remain in their original locations.

The brewpub and restaurant feature a Tiger Mahogany bar from the 1860s, a Beer Cellar and the Rockefeller Room, named after Standard Oil founder and Clevelander John D. Rockefeller, who was thought to have worked in the building. There is a gift shop which sells beer, along with apparel and barware. Brewery tours are available on weekends.
