Belgian Abbey Tripel in a huge 3 liter bottle

Brewed by: Brasserie St. Feuillien
Country: Belgium
Style: Abbey Tripel

This traditional abbey-style Belgian triple (ABV 8.5%) is pale amber, with a white, smooth and compact head. It has a rich aroma with a unique combination of aromatic hops, spices and the typical bouquet of fermentation - very fruity. Secondary fermentation in the bottle gives it a unique aroma due to the presence of yeast. Taste is very strong and exceptionally lingering with a distinctive maltiness. 3 liter (Double Magnum) corked bottle.

Brewery Information:

Brasserie St. Feuillien ("Foo-Yen") had its start in the 7th century, when an Irish monk named Foylan or Foillan—a name which later was translated into the more French "Feuillien"—was killed in the village of Le Roeulx. A chapel was built in his honor, which, over time, became the Abbey St. Feuillien du Roeulx. The abbey featured a brewery to support itself, but was destroyed in the French Revolution. In 1873 the Friart family resumed brewing operations and to this day a portion of the proceeds is donated to charitable causes around the world, making St. Feuillien one of Belgium's oldest and most authentic Abbey Ales.
