Light, well-carbonated, refreshing tripel

Brewed by: Dubuisson Brewery
Country: Belgium
Style: Tripel
Color: Golden

ABV: 10.5%
Cellaring: Yes
Ratebeer.com rating: 89
BeerAdvocate.com rating: 89

Introduced in 2008 to celebrate the brand's 75th anniversary, Scaldis Blond Triple pours a hazy golden color with a frothy white head and expressive carbonation.

Top fermented and bottle conditioned, the brew boasts aromas of vanilla, banana, apricot, tangerine and peach as well as notes of clove and spice.

Taste follows a similar profile while including candy sugar, white chocolate and white pepper; a bigger hit of citrus is well balanced by slight herbal bitterness.

The warming power of the 10.5% ABV is softened by a light body and sparkling champagne-like effervescence.

The finish is lingering, dry, and fruity.

Food Pairings

Scaldis Blonde Triple is exceptionally suitable for culinary use. Its low bitterness makes it a perfect ingredient for sauces or marinades, for both meat and fish.

Scaldis Blonde Triple pairs well with egg dishes, vegetables, blini, caviar, crustaceans, shellfish, fish, chicken dishes, and pizza or pasta with pesto.

Pair with creamy or hard cheeses or use in a cheese fondue instead of white wine.

Brewery Information:

The Dubuisson Brewery was founded in 1769 by Joseph Leroy in Pipaix, a hamlet in the Wallonian region of Belgium, as a farm brewery after an imperial decree ending tax exemptions closed aristocratic breweries in the region including the estate where he was employed at the time.

More than a century and a half later, his heirs (through the female line), brothers Alfred and Amedee Dubuisson, decided to cease all commercial farming and concentrate fully on the brewery business.

Today the Dubuisson Brewery, still family owned and operated and one of the oldest and most respected independent breweries in Belgium, exports superior quality ales to at least twenty countries including the USA, Australia, France, Chile, and Vietnam.
