Belgian Brown Strong Abbey Dubbel

Brewed by: Achelse Kluis
Country: Belgium
Style: Belgian Strong Ale/Dubbel

ABV: 8.0%
Ratebeer.com rating: 97
BeerAdvocate.com rating: 92

Achel Bruin 8 is a spicy dark ale, with a ruddy ruby-brown color, a smooth medium body and perfect carbonation. You may taste notes of caramel, dark fruits, cinnamon and cloves. Malty sweetness is apparent, without overpowering the semi-dry finish with its light hop bitterness. 11.2 oz. bottle.

Achel no longer carries the "Authentic Trappist Product" logo because the last two monks moved from Achel to Westmalle Abbey in 2021. This in no way detracts from the fact that it is a quality Trappist beer, made to the same standards as before, but not under the direct supervision of the monks.
