Anderson Valley Brewing Co.’s Bourbon Barrel Stout is brewed in Boonville, California. It is a luxurious stout with fine bourbon character. Aged for three months in bourbon barrels, this stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with the aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a bourbon character. With an exceptional balance and drinkability, this beer is the closest thing to an every-day bourbon barrel aged stout the world has ever seen.
Serving Suggestion
Beef sliders with caramelized onions. Pulled pork tacos. Smoked gouda, aged cheddar. Beer float with vanilla bean ice cream.
Brewery Information:
Anderson Valley Brewing Company was founded in 1987 in Booneville, California. In the beginning they brewed out of a modest ten barrel brewhouse located in the basement of the original brewpub, The Buckhorn Saloon. At the time, Anderson Valley was one of only twenty craft brewers in the country and has long been considered one of the pioneers of the craft beer industry.
By 1995, the brewery needed to expand. One mile down the road from the saloon, they built a 100-barrel brewhouse, tasting room, beer garden, 10,000 sq ft lounge lawn, an outdoor music stage and the first 18 hole disc golf course ever to be built at a brewery.
In 2011, Anderson established an exclusive partnership with a leading bourbon maker which brought about the Barl Series of bourbon barrel aged beers. This collaboration allows the brewers to create world class barrel aged beers such as the Bourbon Barrel Stout, Salted Caramel Porter, Pinchy Jeek Barl, and Huge Arker Imperial Stout.
