Anderson Valley Brewing Co.’s Brother David’s Triple is brewed in Boonville, California. It is an abbey style ale similar to Belgian style strong pales.  The triple is often characterized by its lighter color, spicy aromatics and complexity.  This triple is brewed with copious amounts of pale malts as well as Belgian candy sugar, giving it a deep golden hue, medium body and rich mouth feel.  The dense head gives off aromas of candied orange peel, clover honey, pears and a hint of freshly mown fields.  The fruity esters and spicy hop flavors balance the phenolic characteristics leading to a peppery citrusy finish.  This beer won Silver Medal at the Great American Beer Festival and gold at the CA State Fair.

Serving Suggestion

Croquettes, quail, roasted pork loin, ginger spice cake..

Brewery Information:

Anderson Valley Brewing Company was founded in 1987 in Booneville, California.  In the beginning they brewed out of a modest ten barrel brewhouse located in the basement of the original brewpub, The Buckhorn Saloon.  At the time, Anderson Valley was one of only twenty craft brewers in the country and has long been considered one of the pioneers of the craft beer industry.

By 1995, the brewery needed to expand.  One mile down the road from the saloon, they built a 100-barrel brewhouse, tasting room, beer garden, 10,000 sq. ft. lounge lawn, an outdoor music stage and the first 18 hole disc golf course ever to be built at a brewery.

In 2011, Anderson established an exclusive partnership with a leading bourbon maker which brought about the Barl Series of bourbon barrel aged beers.  This collaboration allows the brewers to create world class barrel aged beers such as the Bourbon Barrel Stout, Salted Caramel Porter, Pinchy Jeek Barl, and Huge Arker Imperial Stout.
