Mukona (Mykhola) Honey Lager (ABV 6.5%) is a beer for those who love the sweet taste of a hoppy drink. Lightly-filtered and bottom-fermented, it is golden in color and topped with medium-grained, stable foam. Its malt-honey aroma has floral notes. The fullness of taste is felt from the first sip. Light barley malt complements notes of flower honey. “The body is light/medium, moderate carbonation, very smooth and highly drinkable. Altogether, this is a very tasty and refreshing brew, should go well with most food and summer activities but good anytime, very well done.” -- As reviewed by whynot44 (from Missouri) on Beer Advocate. 16.9 oz. bottle.
Brewery Information:
Founded in 1878 and located in the heart of Ukraine, Mukona (Mykhola) craft brewery is a combination tradition and technology. Using both Ukrainian and German recipes in strict compliance with the Bavarian Beer Purity Act of 1516, their brewers have developed a unique, highly-rated menu of beers. Brewing barley is grown in their own fields, and malt is produced at their own malt house. You could call it a “field-to-table” brewery. Mukona uses modern German equipment which includes an innovation laboratory. It is also the first brewery in Ukraine to brew beer using solar energy.
