Piraat 7 16.9 oz can

Golden Ale

Brewed by: Brouwerij Van Steenberge
Country: Belgium
Style: Belgian Golden Ale

ABV (Alcohol by Volume): 6.9%
BeerAdvocate.com rating: 82

Piraat 7 is a lighter and more refined version of the original award-winning Piraat golden ale.  Thanks to Van Steenberge’s mastery and unique yeast strains they were able to make a beer that is accessible while still retaining the bold and complex flavors characteristic of the original.  Expect a golden-amber pour with a creamy white head, offering aromas of fruity esters, spicy yeast and bready malts.

Brewery Information:

Located in Ertvelde, a village in the East Flanders region of Belgium, the Van Steenberge Brewery began in 1784 as a farm brewery (like many hundreds of others in the region) selling beer to local cafes and pubs.

The brewcraft evident in the ales produced resulted in increasing demand; over time, beer revenue significantly outpaced farming revenue, allowing the Van Steenberge heirs to concentrate fully on the brew business.

Today, still family-owned in the sixth generation, the Van Steenberge Brewery distributes award winning ales to more than a dozen countries including Italy, Spain, and the United States.
